About the festival

 
For three days every September the beautiful seaside port of Looe in South East Cornwall is transformed into one huge family friendly music venue – with big music, manic entertainment and a smattering of culture for good measure. It’s a festival with a difference – everywhere is the venue and everybody’s welcome to the party. With an intimate and relaxed vibe, the stages are smack-bang in the centre of town, either end of the beach and around the harbour. There are also acts on every street corner, plus live music in every bar and restaurant, food stalls galore and plenty for the children to do.

When is it?

 
In 2016 the fun starts at 4pm on Friday 23rd September until the stage closes at 11pm on Sunday 25th September, although the entertainment continues in the local bars until late.

Who’s playing?

 
The line-up is class too. Friday night headliner Wilko Johnson, Saturday headliner Bryan Ferry and Sunday headliner Fun Lovin’ Criminals will be joined by Neville Staple, Laurence Fox, Alabama 3, Fisherman’s Friends, King Kurt, Buster Shuffle, Wille and the Bandits, Seth Lakeman and cabaret legend Anita Harris amongst others. Over the festival weekend, 90 bands will play on 5 stages, with an eclectic line-up of local, national and international bands and solo artists. Making 2016 the best year to date.

Transport & Parking

You can pre-book your weekend parking in Looe (3,000 spaces), or book a return coach transfer from Liskeard which is 3 miles from our farm cottages near Liskeard. A shuttle bus also runs as a hail and ride service between the festival site and local areas including Widegates, just 5 miles from Looe Island View. The service runs all weekend until 1am and picks-up every 20 minutes.

When you’re done dancing holes in the sand, you can head off back to your holiday cottage to recharge and return smelling beautiful and refreshed after a comfortable night’s sleep!

Family friendly

You don’t have to be up for all-night raving to enjoy festival vibes – and Looe Music Festival is organised with families in mind. There are lots of activities organised for children at the festival and under 5’s go free. Family activities usually include interactive music workshops, fun beach games, magical storytelling sessions, sand sculpting and more!
 
Between seeing your favourite bands, there’s plenty to do for all the family in and around Looe; from sunny beaches, coastal path walks, safe swimming, crabbing, boat rides and watersports, to wildlife parks and zip wires.
