Covid-19 update as at 24th November 2020.

Please ensure you familiarise and check the latest national and local Government rules/guidance before you travel: http://www.gov.uk/find-coronavirus-local-restrictions.

Government regulations on COVID-19 will change from 2nd December. The government will be a re-introducing the 3 tier system with revisions. You can see the latest English local lockdown guidance here.

This means that different parts of the country will be put into a Medium, High, or Very High category according to the level of transmission of coronavirus in that area. The basic rules re holidays/gatherings for each tier are as follows:

MEDIUM - Tier 1 - Overnight stays are permitted in Tier 1 areas for groups of up to six people from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 area only. Whilst staying, you must adhere to the rules of your Tier, ie you must continue to follow Tier 2 rules when you travel to a Tier 1 area. You can meet in groups of six or fewer indoors or outdoors. Pubs and restaurants will only be permitted to offer table service and will have to stop taking orders at 10pm and shut at 11pm.

HIGH - Tier 2 - Overnight stays are permitted only with those in your support bubble and only for people from Tier 1 and Tier 2 areas. If you live in a Tier 1 area and travel to an area in a higher tier you should follow the rules for that area while you are there. People will be banned from mixing indoors and pubs and restaurants will only be permitted to stay open if they serve “substantial” meals. Additionally, hospitality venues may only serve alcohol with substantial meals. As with Tier 1, last orders are at 10pm and pubs and restaurants will close at 11pm.

VERY HIGH - Tier 3 - Overnight stays are banned. There will be a complete ban on household mixing indoors and most outdoor places apart from public spaces such as parks, public gardens and sports courts, where you can meet in groups of six or less. The hospitality sector may only remain open for takeaway, drive-through or delivery.

Covid Tier - Christmas Rules - We are aware that there will be changes to government rules for the English tier system and for support bubbles around Christmas and New Year We are monitoring the situation and will be in contact with any affected customers via telephone or email as soon as the rules are confirmed.

If you are considering making a booking over the Christmas or New Year period, please feel free to call us on 01275 21 75 75. We are here to take your calls between 8.00 am and 10.00pm every day.

Covid-19 Safety

In partnership with our housekeeping contractor we have implemented new cleaning and sanitising.

Our other contractors will be abiding by current Government legislation.

We have temporarily removed some items like: information leaflets, magazines, excess crockery, board games etc. If there is anything essential you need for your stay please do bring this with you. Although inconvenient perhaps, this will minimise risks to all parties.

What we are asking from our guests:

Cleaning will take extra time:
Due to COVID-19 a risk based approach to cleaning is being implemented and we are essentially having to double clean. This means that we need extra time for each changeover, so arrival and departure times will now be a strict 5.00pm arrival (rather than 4pm), and a strict 9.00am departure (rather than the usual 10am). Please do not enter the property whilst housekeeping are still there and likewise housekeeping cannot enter the property until you have left. Please also do not schedule food deliveries until after 5pm. We understand it is inconvenient, but it is really important that you allow us this extra time to ensure your safety. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Some things may be missing:
To reduce the risk of touch contamination, we have been advised to remove as much as possible from the properties. This means that decorative cushions and throws, ornaments, paper information leaflets, toys, games, etc may have been kept to a minimum.

Please strip your beds before leaving:
It would be more than helpful if you could strip your bed and place all bedding/towels in the bin bags provided by housekeeping. Not glamorous, on the last day of your holiday, we know. The main route for contracting the virus is airborne, and it is considered that removing bedding could make the virus airborne, which is why the Government advise asking guests to strip the beds themselves. This reduces the risk to guests and to housekeeping.

Please empty all bins (including bathroom bins). Please ensure gloves/tissues/masks/waste is put in the waste bins and not left for housekeeping to handle.

Please fill the dishwasher with a full load of crockery and cutlery and set it running before leaving (do not empty it). We are now required to re-wash everything between guests, so it would help hugely if you could put all plates, cutlery, cups etc in the dishwasher before leaving, not just your breakfast things.

Housekeeping & Maintenance:
If you have an urgent maintenance or housekeeping issue please contact the housekeeper

Please ensure you adhere to social distancing guidelines keep at least 2m away if you are in proximity of housekeeping/maintenance/gardening staff or a guest in the adjacent property.

Please try and keep the property clean throughout your stay by wiping down high traffic areas like door handles and hand rails. Please only use cleaners that are safe to use on those surfaces so as to not damage them. Additional cleaning items have been provided, so you can help us to minimise the risk.

Please ensure you wash your hands frequently and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds.

It is the guests responsibility to bring face masks/gloves/hand sanitisers. Please ensure all guests are following the current Government guidelines.

If you develop COVID-19 symptoms:
We sincerely hope that you will have a happy and healthy holiday. However, should a member of your party develop symptoms, then you must immediately go and get tested by contacting https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/get-an-antigen-test-to-check-if-you-have-coronavirus/.
The result must be emailed to stay@staycationholidays.co.uk.

All guests travelling must be free of COVID-19, not be symptomatic and not be in a period of self-isolation. Guests have an obligation to protect their other guests, our contractors and the local community.
