Their schedule of fun and exciting activities over Easter include two weeks of Alice in Wonderland family fun at “the loveliest castle in the world”. From the 25th March to the 10th April, enjoy the fantastic Alice in Wonderland themed Easter Quest with trails across the grounds for all children (small charge of £1 per child). When they’ve finished they’ll receive a small chocolate prize. During the bank holiday weekend, there will even more mad goings-on. There will be the opportunity to join in the hunt for the White Rabbit in the Woodland Walk, meet Alice and her friends as they pop up across the grounds, and enjoy chaotic and energetic performances at Alice’s interactive pop-up tea party with the Mad Hatter, March Hare, Alice and the Dormouse. Meet Her Majesty the Queen of Hearts as she invites you to join her royal game of croquet, starring you as the hoops and hedgehogs! With plenty for the little ones to do, it makes for the perfect Easter day out. Pack a picnic and enjoy the beautiful castle and its 500 acres of beautiful parkland.

2 A Theatrical Thrill in Devon

Details: During the Easter holidays, the Exeter Corn Exchange plays host to two lovely Eastery performances, ideal if there are a few little people in your group. Follow Peter Rabbit’s adventures on a charming musical journey in The Tales of Beatrix Potter between March 24th and 26th. Join the naughty bunnies, nibble on a tasty picnic fairy cake at the Jemima’s tea party, and help Peter to escape that old meanie Mr McGregor in this lively new show! Or join Alice and her friends at the biggest tea party in town on March 30th! Alice in Wonderland, a magical Easter panto treat, is perfect for the whole family and guaranteed to have you in fits of laughter. Joining Alice is the Mad Hatter, played by Britain’s Got Talent finalist Philip Green, as well as the White Rabbit and of course Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee.

3 Science in East Sussex

Details: For a sugar-free day out with a bit of a thrill, science fans should head for The Observatory Science Centre during the Easter holidays. In addition to the interactive hands-on exhibits, there will be daily telescope tours and spectacular science shows every day, all included in your admission price! The centre is also running a series of fantastic workshops during the Easter holidays, aimed at children aged 6-9 or 10-13 years. A great way to have fun and learn at the same time, your kids can get fully immersed in carrying out experiments and creating all sorts to take home. Why not prebook your budding Tim Peakes and let them find out more about the ‘Mysterious Man in the Moon’, ‘Rocketry’ or how to ‘Be an Astronaut’ for half a day? While the kids are busy, you can always enjoy a spring walk in the gardens and grounds of the moated Herstmonceux Castle. 4 A Great Emu Egg Hunt in Cornwall

5 An Edwardian Egg Trail in Herefordshire

Details: Did you know that the Edwardians loved to decorate their Easter eggs with jewels, colourful paint and ribbons? Grab a trail sheet and find all the fancy Edwardian Easter eggs on this superb family outdoor trail. What’s more, your four-legged friend doesn’t need to miss out on the action and you even collect a prize at the end! Of course, Easter just wouldn’t be complete without all the chocolate goodies of a Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt which runs between March 25th and 28th at the castle. Your children will love the adventures here and you’ll be able to escape all the Easter excitement for a little while afterwards and relax in the cafe with a cream tea!

6 A Chicken Challenge in the Cotswolds

Details: It’s an exciting time of year for any farm park with the arrival of new baby animals. At Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park, you’ll be able to help bottle feed the lambs and goat kids, and meet the chicks and rabbits. And of course, don’t forget to take a Farm Safari ride on a tractor and trailer around the farm as well. If the little ones are still bursting with energy let them run around the play areas!
The Easter holidays are set to be fun-filled with lots of extra activities going on. In true Easter style, the Farm Park will be running The Great Chicken Challenge! This new obstacle course will see you making a nest, transporting your giant eggs and bouncing your way to the finish line. Everyone who completes the course will receive a prize. Not only that, there will, of course, be an Easter egg hunt over the bank holiday weekend, with five prizes to be found each day.
